Burial rites for Pa Jola Emmanuel Ogunlusi who was the first National Secretary of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) would commence on June 24 with service of songs in Festac town, Lagos.
According to a statement by the deceased’s family, the remains of the Ekiti-born veteran journalist would thereafter be brought to his residence, at Odo-Iyo, Oke Ayedun Ekiti in Ikole local government area of Ekiti State where the Christian wake service would be held for him.
It adds that funeral service will be held at Saint Luke’s Anglican Church, Esun-Ekiti on 27th June at 9am.
Meanwhile, the President of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) Alhaji Yahya AlHassan would be leading leaders of the Union across the country to pay their last tribute to the late veteran journalist.
The Ekiti State Council of the Union therefore urged members to attend the event and pay their last respect to the late Pa Ogunlusi.
