PDP remains one House, despite Crisis- Spokesman

The National Publicity secretary of the People Democratic Party (PDP), Hon. Debo Ologunagba, has stated that the main opposition party is an indivisible unit despite crisis affecting the party

Ologunagba stated this while fielding questions on a television program me in Abuja.

The spokesperson noted that it is the capacity of a party to reconcile conflicting interests that makes it a political party.

The PDP, he said, was well founded on its policies, mission and vision with a very solid constitution which guides all its processes.

He spoke further: “So, when you begin to talk about the fact that the PDP has an unending crises, that will not be correct and I don’t agree with you.

“The PDP is a party that is properly formed and will continue to be a bastion of democracy.

“What defines a political party is the fact that it is comprised of different individuals with different backgrounds and with contestation of ideas and interests. It is the capacity of a party to reconcile these conflicting interests that makes it a political party.

“With all due respect, the PDP has been able, as a truly democratic party, to bring about the coalescing of these different opinions and views into becoming a solid party since 1999.

“So, that tells you that this is a party that is well founded on its policies, mission and vision as well as a very solid constitution which guides all our processes.

“So, when you begin to talk about the fact that the PDP has an unending crises, that will not be correct and I don’t agree with you,” he stated.
