PDP Hails Court Judgement on Suspension of “expired’ Caretaker group

The Plateau State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has applauded the court ruling
which upheld the suspension of the group it described as ” expired caretaker “.

The PDP in a statement on its official handle signed by the state Publicity Secretary of the party, Hon. Choji Felix Dalyop stated that the judgement:marked a monumental victory for party discipline, constitutional supremacy, and internal democracy “following the decisive judgment delivered by the Court of Appeal*.

The statement reads in part:

“In its landmark ruling, the appellate court explicitly upheld the suspension of A.K. Ajibade, SAN, and his associates, (Sam Anyanwu and co), thereby validating the party’s internal disciplinary mechanism which the aforementioned have no power to act on its behalf giving the present circumstance.

“Furthermore, the court soundly declined to grant any legitimacy to the purported Abdulrahman Led-Caretaker Committee, effectively dismantling an illegal parallel structure designed to cause unnecessary factionalism.

“Crucially, the Court restricted itself from determining the issue raised as to the validity of the Ibadan Convention for the obvious reason that the Apex Court had earlier on decided on the said issue conclusively.

“Similarly, the Court of Appeal dismissed the suit challenging the outcomes of the party’s national convention, permanently laying to rest malicious attempts to invalidate legitimate party leadership, and processes.

“By this judicial pronouncement, the courts have reaffirmed that political parties must be governed strictly by their own constitutions, free from external sabotage, and lawless interference among others.

“You recall that ,the Plateau PDP, this day Saturday, 25th, November, 2025, elected Miskom Raymond Dabo, as its new State Chairman, alongside 38 other members of the State Executive Committee.

“Also, in compliance with the Apex Court judgment of 30th April, 2026, the BoT, of our great party, constituted the 13-member, INWC during the party’s 103rd NEC meeting in FCT, Abuja, Nigeria, this day 4th May, 2026, to steer the party’s affairs toward victory in the 2027, General Elections, stands vindicated by this profound judicial pronouncement.

“We congratulate our legal team, our resilient INWC, under the strategic leadership of Dr. Kabiru Tanimu Turaki, SAN, and our teeming members, stakeholders, and the general public, who stood firm against all sorts of distraction.

“Moving forward, the PDP remains an indivisible, structured, and focused family.

*We hereby warn all naysayers, detractors, and mischief makers that the era of impunity is over.

“We extend an olive branch to all genuine members to unite as we reinforce our dominance, and continue delivering good governance to the people of Plateau State”, the PDP said.
