OYEBANJI’S WIFE CELEBRATES RCCG EKITI AT 50, HAILS CHURCH’S IMPACT ON STATE DEVELOPMENT

 

The First Lady of Ekiti State, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, has applauded the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) for its unwavering spiritual, social, and developmental contributions to the state, as the church marks its 50th anniversary in Ekiti.

Speaking at a special thanksgiving service to commemorate the golden jubilee, the First Lady who was represented by the Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development, Pastor Olapeju Babafemi described the milestone as “an extraordinary celebration of faith, resilience, and divine purpose.” She noted that the RCCG in Ekiti State had grown from humble beginnings into a spiritual powerhouse that continues to influence lives positively beyond the confines of religion.

“Fifty years ago, a seed was planted, nurtured by prayer, watered by sacrifice, and grown through the grace of God. Today, that seed has blossomed into a vibrant community of believers,” she said.

She praised the leadership of RCCG, particularly the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, and his wife, Pastor (Mrs.) Folu Adeboye, for their visionary guidance and unwavering dedication to both spiritual and societal advancement. She also commended the church for its numerous social interventions, notably the donation of the Enoch and Folu Adeboye Dialysis Centre at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital.

According to her, the church’s consistent involvement in health outreach, education, and moral reawakening demonstrates its commitment to community development and national progress.

While receiving the award of Excellence presented to her from the RCCG,Ekiti State, Dr. Oyebanji expressed deep appreciation for the recognition, describing it as “a profound encouragement to serve with sincerity, passion, and the fear of God.”

The wife of the Governor further urged the church to remain a beacon of light and continue collaborating with the government and civil society to build a peaceful and prosperous Ekiti.

“As we mark this significant anniversary, I encourage the church to remain steadfast. Our society’s moral and spiritual fabric needs your vision, values, and voice,” she added.

Dr. Oyebanji also solicited continued prayers and support for the administration of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, noting that divine grace and collective effort are essential for sustainable development in the state.

Earlier in his sermon, the General Overseer of RCCG, Pastor Enoch Adeboye, represented by the Special Assistant to the General Oversear,Pastor Dele Balogun admonished Christians with a message titled “The Glory of the Latter House” taken from Haggai 2:9.

He encouraged the congregation to remain steadfast and committed to the work of evangelism and to generously support the work of God through their resources and talents.

The ceremony, which drew dignitaries, clergy, and faithful from across the state and beyond, was filled with songs of praise, testimonies, and reflections on RCCG’s remarkable journey over the past five decades.

The event climaxed with fervent prayers for Ekiti State, its leaders, and the church, alongside a renewed commitment to evangelism and community service.
