
A ranking member of the House of Representatives, Hon Olufemi Bamisile and siblings , would on Saturday organise a colloquium to celebrate the 40th memorial anniversary of the departure of his father, Chief Gabriel Adeniyi Bamisile.
The event will hold on Saturday, April 4, at Kota Ekiti, Ekiti East Local Government Area of Ekiti State.
Chief Adeniyi Bamisile, a distinguished community leader and high ranking federal career officer, died in 1986.
He was the Elekota of Omuo Ekiti during his lifetime.
A statement signed by Hon. Femi Bamisile on behalf of his siblings, on Friday, revealed that among the dignitaries to grace the epochal event, is the Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji.
A lecture titled: “Legacy of Integrity: Public Service, Traditional Leadership and Community Development “, will be delivered by a world class academic, Prof Azees Afolayan to spice up the programme’s intellectual prowess.
Bamisile said his father worths being celebrated, having lived a distinctive life as a family man, thoroughbred career civil servant and distinguished community leader.
The late Pa Gabriel Adeniyi Bamisile worked in the federal civil service and rose to the zenith of his career as a Chief Inspector of Taxes, Federal Inland Revenue Service before his demise.
Femi Bamsile said part of his father’s epic struggles culminated in the autonomy granted Kota Ekiti as a full fledged town by the state government.
