The Deputy Governor of Ogun State, Noimot Salako-Oyedele, has called on Muslim women across Egbaland to unite and take an active role in community development, public policy, and good governance.
Speaking at the inauguration of a new women’s forum, Salako-Oyedele highlighted the severe challenges threatening modern homes, citing drug abuse, cybercrime, cultism, declining family values, economic hardship, and the harmful effects of social media.
To combat these issues, she charged the forum to focus on family counseling, youth mentorship, leadership development, and humanitarian aid. She also urged members to set aside personal differences and collaborate for the greater good, emphasizing that collective action drives meaningful progress.
Furthermore, Salako-Oyedele advocated for broader female participation across key sectors—including education, healthcare, public service, and entrepreneurship—and encouraged women to support competent leadership that serves the public interest.
The summit concluded with a unified pledge to strengthen collaboration among Muslim women and drive initiatives aimed at empowering families and improving communities across Ogun State.
