….As Club Patron, Jaruu Assures of Sustained Support*
Basking in the euphoria of the recent two months salaries paid by governor Biodun Oyebanji , players and coaches of Ekiti United FC on Monday resumed training with lots of enthusiasm and vigour at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium in Ado Ekiti.
The state governor had surprised the team by approving two months salaries with a view to boosting their morale ahead of the NNL kickoff on March 3.
The atmosphere also got charged when a patron of the state owned football club, Hon. Ade Adesokan popularly known as Jaruu arrived.
Jaruu’s arrival was greeted with huge applause by the Supporters Club members, players and technical crew.
The governor’s aide was led into the training ground by the secretary, Ayodeji Olowolafe who acknowledged the unquantifiable supportive role frequently played by the club patron towards putting smiles on the faces of the players and officials.
Olowolafe noted that Hon Adesokan has always been there for the club through thick and thin and often support the club morally and financially.
In the same vein, the Team Manager, Adedeji Adu and the Chief Scouting officer, Babatola Olushola sang the praises of the Ekiti State governor’s aide for being a rare, passionate and committed backbone to Ekiti United FC.
Vice chairman of Ekiti State Coaches Association, Mr Mustapha Bello, chairman of the State Players Union and the chairman, Supporters Club, Sunday Afolabi all pleaded with Hon. Adesokan to keep up the good works urging him to help reach out to people in goverment and the corporate sector who could complement the efforts of goverment at developing and empowering the youths of Ekiti state through football.
Responding, the Chairman, Intelligent Committee On Petroleum to the governor of Ekiti state promised to keep supporting Ekiti United FC through voluntary donations of token financial rewards to boost the moral of the players in their home and away matches.
In the presence of the officials, Jaruu put a call through to a friend in Europe and asked for support for the team with an assurance of at least 120 pairs of branded jersey for Ekiti United FC in the coming season.
He also promised to reach out to some other friends of like mind who could help in uplifting the team with a view to giving it an international outlook that befits a state team.
The Club patron also celebrated the birthday of the captain of Ekiti United FC, Adewale Makanjuola with cash gifts for all the players and officials with an assurance that the government of governor Biodun Oyebanji being a listening one would do all within it’s powers to elevate the team to desired heights.
