Newcruse Appoints Ace broadcaster, Bamidele Okunola as Head of News, Current Affairs 

The management of Newcruse 92.7 FM Ikere Ekiti has appointed ace broadcaster and journalist, Bamidele(Citizen)Okunola, as the Head of News and Current Affairs of the station.

(Citizen)Okunola is a Bloomberg TV/Lagos Business School/University of Lagos trained journalist, newscaster and program presenter with over eighteen years of experience in television and radio broadcasting.

Beginning his broadcasting career with stints on NTA Channel 5 in Lagos State, Bamidele later moved to Ado Ekiti where he joined the Broadcasting Service of Ekiti State, BSES, excelling in various capacities as News Editor, presenter on programs like “Daybreak Nigeria”, and reporter for the 4th and 5th Ekiti State House of Assembly.

In 2017 Bamidele received a Commendation Letter from the Ekiti State Government for exceptional reportage of the Pilgrimage to Israel. Also in the same year, Bamidele won a $20,000 scholarship from Bloomberg Philanthropies to study Financial Journalism at the Lagos Business School (LBS)/University of Lagos.

An astute media strategist, program presenter and networker, Bamidele later became the pioneer Head of News and Current Affairs at Fresh 106.9 FM, where he produced and presented programs like “Viewpoint” and “Political Circuit”, which were highly acclaimed for content promoting societal consciousness and awareness.

An Msc student of Peace and Security Studies at the Ekiti State University, EKSU, Bamidele possesses a Bsc. Business Administration from same university. He also has a Diploma in Theatre, TV and Radio Production from Lagos State University, LASU.
