NAWOJ Lagos Unveils New Leadership: Charting a Fresh Course

 


The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ) Lagos State Chapter has concluded the inauguration of its new executives, who will steer the affairs of the association for the next three years. The newly inaugurated executives include:
Jumoke Faleye Johnson – Chairperson, Anu M. Thomas – Secretary, Omolola Olamijulo – Treasurer and Abiola Adaramoye – Financial Secretary

The new executives are expected to build on the gains of their predecessors and take NAWOJ Lagos Chapter to greater heights. The association is confident that the new team will work tirelessly to promote the welfare of women journalists and advance the cause of women’s empowerment in the state.

The newly inaugurated Chairperson, Jumoke Faleye Johnson, is a seasoned journalist with over two decades of experience. She has held various leadership positions, including Vice Chairperson and Chairperson of the NUJ, Voice of Nigeria Chapel, Lagos. Johnson is known for her dedication, hard work, and commitment to the advancement of women in journalism.

The Secretary, Anu M. Thomas, brings valuable experience to the table, having worked with the media team of the Lagos State Government for several years. Her expertise is expected to enhance the association’s communication and outreach efforts.

The Financial Secretary, Abiola Adaramoye, is a seasoned broadcast journalist with over 18 years of experience. She has promised to manage the association’s financial resources effectively, foster trust, promote financial stability, and ensure transparency and accountability.

The new executives are expected to work closely with members to identify and address the challenges facing women journalists in Lagos State. They are also expected to strengthen the association’s partnerships with other stakeholders to promote the welfare of women journalists and advance the cause of women’s empowerment.

NAWOJ Lagos Chapter is optimistic that the new executives will take the association to greater heights and make meaningful contributions to the development of journalism and women’s empowerment in the state.
