The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists, NAWOJ, Ekiti State Chapter, has congratulated Chief (Dr) Margaret Taiwo Fagboyo on her installation as the Yeye Atóònà of Igede Kingdom, Igede-Ekiti.
Dr Fagboyo, who is also the Yeye Gbadero of Ipoti Kingdom, was installed on Saturday, October 31, 2026, by His Royal Majesty, Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru II, the Onigede of Igede-Ekiti.

In a congratulatory statement signed by the Chairperson, Mrs Adewumi Ademiju and Secretary, Funmi Falae, NAWOJ Ekiti described the honour as well-deserved, royal recognition of a life dedicated to service, humanity and women development.
The association said the title, which means a woman who shows the way, provides direction and inspires progress, perfectly captures Dr Fagboyo’s consistent role as a trailblazer in women and child development, community service and purposeful leadership.

NAWOJ Ekiti noted that Dr Fagboyo has remained a strong pillar of support for women empowerment, girl-child education, and community development, using her influence and resources to uplift vulnerable women and inspire younger generations.
The women journalists prayed for wisdom, strength and grace for the new chief to excel in her traditional responsibilities and to continue her impactful contributions to Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.
“We are extremely proud of Chief (Dr) Margaret Taiwo Fagboyo. This chieftaincy is not just a celebration of royalty, but a validation of decades of selfless service to women, children and the entire society. She has shown the way for many women and she truly deserves to be called Yeye Atóònà,” the statement quoted.
“Dr Fagboyo is a woman of substance, compassion and uncommon commitment to human development. Her passion for women’s welfare, her mentorship and her voice for the voiceless have distinguished her as a mother, leader and icon worthy of emulation. NAWOJ Ekiti celebrates her today and always,” it added.
“As journalists, we have watched her journey closely and we can attest that she embodies integrity, grace and leadership. We encourage her to see this honour as a higher call to continue her good work on women and child development generally. May her reign bring more progress, peace and prosperity to Igede Kingdom,” NAWOJ stated.
The association further congratulated the Onigede of Igede-Ekiti, Oba James Adelusi Aladesuru II and the entire Igede Kingdom for finding Dr Fagboyo worthy of such a prestigious title.
