The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State Chapter has extended heartfelt condolences to the family of Christianah Ademulegun, fondly known as Eye Opitan, the first indigenous broadcaster in Ekiti State.
The Chairperson of NAWOJ in Ekiti, Mrs Adewumi Ademiju in a statement signed by the Secretary, Mrs Funmi Falae expressed her deep sorrow at the news of Eye Opitan’s passing, describing her as a trailblazer and a legendary broadcaster who paved the way for future generations.
“We are profoundly saddened to learn of the passing of Christianah Ademulegun, a cherished broadcaster, We convey our deepest sympathies to her family, friends, and colleagues during this challenging time.”
NAWOJ Ekiti prayed for the eternal repose of Eye Opitan’s soul and sought divine strength and comfort for the grieving family.
“May her legacy continue to inspire and empower women journalists and broadcasters in Ekiti State and beyond,” the statement concluded.
