A former presidential candidate of the defunct National Republican Convention (NRC), Bashir Tofa is dead.
Tofa contested against Late Moshood Abiola of Social Democratic party SDP in 1993, the election was later annulled by the then President Ibrahim Babangida.
A family source who confirmed the demise of Tofa at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH) in the early hours of Monday said, “Alhaji Bashir Tofa died after a brief illness.
“He was at the intensive care unit (ICU) at the hospital for days but was recovering and later passed away”
Tofa was born on June 20, 1947.
