The publisher of Frontline community newspaper, Ekiti Standard, Barr. Ose Ogunkorode has congratulated the government and good people of Ekiti State for the smooth cross over to year 2026 while thanking God for the gift of life.
He stated this in a press statement signed by him and made available to newsmen in Ado-Ekiti on Wednesday.
The veteran journalist, lawyer and businessman noted that though, the outgone year was quite challenging on the economic and security front, he however expressed optimism that year 2026 promises to be a year of succour and economic stability.
His words; “I want to use this occasion to congratulate government and the good people of Ekiti State for the gift of life especially to have witnessed year 2026 in peace. It is the Lord’s doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.
“There’s no doubt that the outgone year was very challenging both on the economic front and in the area of insecurity, but the relative successes recorded towards the tail end of 2025 leading to the significant drop in food prices and renewed total war on banditry and terrorism shows a strong determination by the government to address these challenges headlong. Let us keep hope alive that year 2026 shall be a year of accelerated peace and economic stability” he noted.
He lauded the present administration in Ekiti State for actualizing the dream of Ekiti international cargo airport saying that the project will open the state to investors while boosting the local economy/commerce of people along the corridor.
According to him; “Government should also compliment the establishment of the new Ekiti airport with an excellent road network leading to it such as the newly constructed ring road along that corridor. Good access roads to the airport would definitely drive huge patronage”
In a similar vein, Barr. Ogunkorode used the occasion to express his appreciation to numerous clients of Ekiti Standard newspaper who have shown their love for the vibrant community newspaper through their patronage in the outgone year.
“I am particularly grateful to Ekiti State Government, Ekiti State House of Assembly (7th) Assembly, Ministries, corporate organisations, associations, schools and others for their patronage in 2025. Your confidence in us and patronage has kept us afloat in the face of harsh economic realities, the challenge of social media and huge printing cost. However, despite the existential operational limitations, we are committed to our core mandate of being a vanguard of accurate news report from the grassroots”. He said.
