Jubilation in FUOYE as mgt rolls out list of 333 newly promoted staff

Wild jubilation has erupted in the University community of the Federal University Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) since Thursday on the good news that the University Council has approved a list of 333 promoted staff members.

Many excited staff members sent congratulatory messages on various staff WhatsApp groups in joyous response to the length list of promoted staff members just approved by the institution’s Governing Council ably chaired by Dr. Mohammed Yahuza.

The Prof. Abayomi Sunday Fasina’s led management team, had recommended the list of qualified academic and non academic members staff members to the Council in compliance with the University regulations, after thorough scrutiny by relevant committees.

Excited staff members felicitated the promotees on various social media platforms, just as the beneficiaries also appreciated the Fasina led administration for ensuring that all qualified staff members are duly promoted without any internal or external interferences. They were glad that the days of sidelining staff members on promotion for selfish, political or other henious reasons were gone in the institution.

The progressive development is coming barely nine months after the Ivory Tower recorded the due promotion of 429 staff members under the incumbent administration of Prof. Fasina. This is a clear fulfilment of the promises of the VC to ensure that staff welfare and well being are guaranteed during under his watch.
The number of promoted staff members since Prof. Fasina resumed office on February 11, 2021 has now risen to 762.

The recent promotion exercise has the following breakdown, 10 are promoted to full professorial cadre, and they included Dr. Segun Isaac OYEDEJI, Department of Animal & Env. Biology; Dr. Ditimi Jonathan AMASSOMA, Department of Economics, Dr. Chika Euphemia ASOGWA, Department of Mass Communication, Dr. Olorunwa Eric OMOFUNMI, Department of Agricultural Bioresources & Engineering, Dr. Wasiu OYEDOKUN-ALLI, Department of English & Literary Studies, (FUOYE’s first Professor of English and Literary Studies), Dr. Eunice Moriyike OGUNBUSOLA, Department of Hospitality and Tourism Management, Dr. Ibrahim Adepoju ADEYANJU, Department of Computer Engineering, (also FUOYE’s first Professor of Computer Engineering), Dr. Oyebamiji Oyedele OKETAYO, Department of Physics, Dr. Olatunde Ajani OYELARAN, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Dr. Omodele IBRAHEEM of the Department of Biochemistry .

Those promoted to associate professorial cadre are 22 and they included, Dr. Yakibi Ayodele AFOLABI, Department of Business Administration, Dr. Anthony Henry EKEOCHA, Department of Animal Production & Health, Dr. Christopher Ajiboye FAPOHUNDA, Department of Civil Engineering, Dr. John B. OLASUNKANMI, Fisheries & Aquaculture, Dr. Stanley AGBO, Animal & Environmental Biology, and Dr. Harry OLUFUNWA, English & Literary Studies.

Others are Dr. T. O. ARIYOMO, Fisheries & Aquaculture 1st October, 2021, Dr. Chiedu Akporaro ABRIFOR, Department of Criminology & Security Studies, Dr. Olabode Taiwo KOLAWOLE, Department of Sociology, Dr Olawale Olarewaju AJIBOLA, Department of Materials & Metallurgical Engineering, Dr. Lilian BAKARE, Department of Theatre & Media Arts, and Dr. Rotimi Oladele, Department of Accounting.

There are also, Dr Dorcas A. Babatunde, Department of Accounting, Dr Jonathan Olusegun ADEDOKUN, Department of Public Administration, Dr. Ayodele Oluwaseun AJAYI, (SS Department of Microbiology, Dr. John Olusola KUBOYE, Department of Mathematics, Dr. Gabriel Opeyemi OGUNLEYE, Department of Computer Science, Dr. Foluso Olugbenga ARIBABA, Department of Business Administration, Dr.Philip Ifeakachukwu NWOSA, Department of Economics, Dr. Abiodun Musbau LAWAL, the Department of Psychology, Dr. Kunle ONI, Department of Food Science & Technology and Dr. Loretta Favour C. NTOIMO of the Department of Demography and Social Statistics.

Those promoted to Senior Lectuters’ rank are 18, lecturers 1, 14 and lecture 11 are 22.This brings the grand total of newly promoted academic staff to 85. Their promotion took effect from 1st October, 2022

For the non-academic staff members, three are promoted to Deputy Registrar level, two to Deputy Bursar, and four are moved to Deputy Directors’ rank. These accordingly, inlcluded,
Mr. Sunday Ayodele AKINKUNMI, Deputy Registrar, Mrs. Blessing Amaechi EYIOLORUNPE, Deputy Registrar, Mr. Oloruntele Raphael OLAREWAJU, Deputy Registrar, Mrs Rachael Adeniyi AJAYI, Deputy Bursar, Mr. Nenmatne Hagakka WAPJI, Deputy Bursar, Mrs. Bosede Esther ADENIGBA, Deputy Director (Internal Audit), Mrs Kehinde Bridget OLAIYA, Deputy Director (Building), Mr. Seun Samson OJEDEJI, Deputy Director (Network Engineer), and Mr. Oluwaseun Samuel OYEBANJI, Deputy Director (System Analyst). Their promotion also roof effect from1st October, 2022.

There were 230 other senior and junior non-teaching staff members promoted, bringing the grand total of promoted non-teaching staff to 239.
