The Executive Chairman of Ikeja Local Government in Lagos State, Comrade Akeem Olalekan Dauda (AKOD), has presented ten brand-new official vehicles to the management staff of the Council.
The local government chairman said the gesture was a bold demonstration of his unwavering commitment to staff welfare and institutional efficiency,
The vehicles according to a press release signed by the chief press secretary to the chairman,Olalekan Oni include:” six (6) SUVs for Heads of Departments (HoDs), three (3) Toyota Sienna buses dedicated to the Revenue Department, and one (1) fully equipped Hi-Level Ambulance to strengthen the operations of the Health Department”
The statement added that:
“This strategic investment is aimed at enhancing productivity, improving service delivery, and boosting internally generated revenue across the Local Government”
The commissioning ceremony was performed by the Chief of Staff to James Abiodun Faleke, represented by Dr. Bayo ‘Ayo, who commended Chairman AKOD for prioritizing the welfare of staff and creating an enabling environment for effective governance at the grassroots level.
In his brief address, Chairman AKOD appreciated the management staff for their unwavering cooperation and dedication since the inception of his administration. He described the gesture as “just the tip of the iceberg,”
The Chairman assured that many more impactful initiatives are on the way. He emphasized that the vehicles, particularly those allocated to the Revenue Department, should serve as motivation for improved performance and increased revenue generation for the Council.
The Chairman also stated that :”members of the Legislative Arm will soon receive official vehicles to further enhance their oversight functions and mobility in the discharge of their constitutional responsibilities.”
At the ceremony was the Vice Chairman of Ikeja Local Government, Hon. Abisola Omisore, who joined in presenting and celebrating the milestone achievement.
The Head of Human Resources and Administration, Comrade Jubril Aliu in his vote of thanks expressed deep appreciation to the Chairman and affirmed that the gesture would greatly inspire renewed dedication and commitment to duty.
“This landmark initiative once again reflects the practical implementation of the I.K.E.J.A Agenda, particularly in strengthening institutions and empowering personnel for greater results”, the statement said.
