Governor Oyebanji
The Chairperson of the Ekiti Sports Development Trust Funds (ESDTF), Tokunbo Ajila-Jakande (TAJ) through her foundation, Tokunbo Ajila-Jakande Children Foundation (TAJCF), has lauded Governor Biodun Oyebanji for his transformative efforts in Ekiti State, spanning sports, Healthcare infrastructure and compassion.
TAJ, known for her dedication to supporting the needy, has praised the governor’s initiatives that align with her passion for service to humanity, making him her role model in compassionate leadership.
She made this statement during her recent visit to the Ekiti State Teaching Hospital in Ado Ekiti. In her words,
Governor Oyebanji’s healthcare reforms have marked a significant improvement over previous administrations. The State Teaching Hospital and other public healthcare facilities have undergone a major upgrade, with the introduction of modern medical equipment, recruitment of qualified health workers, and enhanced services. These improvements have positioned Ekiti’s public hospitals to provide care services that supersede any advanced private healthcare institutions in the state. Consequently, the governor has urged citizens to take full advantage of these upgraded services, stating, “Our public hospitals are better than ever before. It is our collective responsibility to ensure everyone has access to quality healthcare.”
Additionally, she praised Governor Oyebanji’s acts of compassion that have truly set him apart. She highlighted the governor’s recent gesture in building a home for Mama Ajayi Alufoge, a woman in desperate need. The governor not only constructed a house from the ground up but also furnished it to ensure Mama Ajayi could live with dignity. This act has not only transformed her living conditions but has extended her life expectancy through the care and security she now enjoys.
As Chairperson of the ESTDF, TAJ also praised the governor’s commitment to advancing sports in the state. His ongoing transformation of the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, which is being upgraded to national standards, is one of the most notable initiatives in this area. Recent excavation work on the stadium’s natural grass field has led to speculations about the installation of cutting-edge facilities, such as an AstroTurf pitch. Governor Oyebanji’s efforts in sports development not only promise to create a state-of-the-art facility for athletes but also to inspire young talent and provide a platform for the youth to showcase their skills on the global stage.
In addition to these initiatives, Governor Oyebanji has also built upon the legacy of former Governor Kayode Fayemi by further upgrading the Ekiti State Agro-Allied Airport to international standards. This ambitious project, which has been completed, will play a vital role in bolstering the state’s economy by facilitating trade, investment, and tourism. With its readiness for operation, the airport is expected to enhance connectivity, creating new opportunities for local businesses and contributing to the overall growth of the region.
Ajila-Jakande, who has devoted her life to uplifting the less fortunate, praised the governor for his comprehensive approach to governance. “Governor Oyebanji’s work reflects a deep understanding of the interconnectedness of healthcare, infrastructure, sports, and compassion,” she said. “His leadership is a shining example of what it means to serve the people and make decisions that benefit every sector of society.”
Closing her remarks, Ajila-Jakande also took the opportunity to commend the First Lady, Mrs. Oyebanji, for her unparalleled humanitarian work. She highlighted the First Lady’s pet program, which has provided assistance to many widows, widowers, and children, helping them to live more comfortable and dignified lives. “The efforts of Mrs. Oyebanji complement her husband’s work in the most extraordinary way. “Together, they embody a model of compassionate leadership that is transforming Ekiti State. The combination of BAO and BAORESS is truly a blessing to our state.”
