Former SSG, Oyebanji Wins Ekiti Governoship Election

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has declared former secretary to Ekiti state government SSG and candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Mr Biodun Oyebanji, winner of the Saturday’s governorship election held in Ekiti State.

Returning Officer, Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, Prof Kayode Adebowale who announced the results in Ado, said Mr Biodun Oyebanji, having scored the highest number of votes and won more than two-third of the election in 16 Local Government, is hereby declared winner.

Oyebanji won 15 of the 16 Local Governments election results declared by INEC, while People’s Democratic Party candidate, Mr Bisi Kolawole won Efon Local government

 

 

APC governorship candidate polled one hundred and eighty seven, fifty seven votes to lead Chief Segun Oni of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, who posted a distant eighty two thousand, Two hundred and twenty two votes to emerge second, while Bisi Kolawole of the People’s Democratic Party PDP scored sixty seven thousand, four hundred and fifty seven votes to emerge third.

 

The breakdown of results declared are as follows: Ekiti South-West LG : APC – 9,679 ,PDP – 4474 and SDP – 4,577, Ekti West LG APC -15,202 ,PDP – 3,386 and SDP – 3,863, Efon LG APC – 4012, PDP – 6,303 and SDP – 339
