FOMWAN Distributes Food items to Less Privileged in Ekiti

The Amirah of Federation of Women Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) on Sunday led other Executive members to share raw foods among widows in Ekiti State.

The  muslim women stated that the gesture is in accordance to the teachings of Islam and the prophet that encourage extension of hand of love to less privileged individuals especially widows and orphan.

Amirah FOMWAN,Ekiti State, Alhaja Muibat Akingbade while giving out the gifts to the widows said it was courtesy Deen international Sadaka Women Support Initiative.

Alhaja Akingbade said it was aimed at alleviating sufferings among the widows from various locations in Ekiti State as the beneficiaries came from various parts of Ekiti State.

The gifts which included rice and beans were handed to each widow who appreciated and prayed for the donors with a call on other groups within the state and beyond to emulate the kind gesture.

Alhaja Akingbade who said FOMWAN, Ekiti State was grateful to Deen International Sadaka Women Support Initiative stated” the state was delighted to have been added to the list of benefiting States of the country especially at this time of economic hardship” which she said “affected women especially widows most”.

She said more of such gifts shall be shared among widows in future as the gesture shall be continous.

Alhaja Akingbade also thanked the State governor, Biodun Oyebanji for creating an enabling environment for businesses to thrive and for multi-nationals to consider Ekiti State for various goodies.

She assured that the State government shall not shirk in it’s responsibility to formulate and implement people oriented policies and programs which will positively affect women and especially widows and the vulnerable.

The FOMWAN Amirah urged Ekiti people to keep praying for continued peace, progress and stability in Ekiti State adding that no society could thrive in an atmosphere devoid of peace.

She appreciated the Deen international Sadaka Women Support Initiative for it’s efforts at alleviating sufferings among the most vulnerable in the society.

The widows who took turn to collect the gifts prayed Allah’s guidance and protection for the brains behind the Deen international Sadaka Women Support Initiative, Ekiti State and Nigeria in general.

Widows in Ondo State and some other states of the country had earlier benefited from the initiative.
