A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Erelu Modupe Ogundipe has hailed the emergence of Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele popularly known as MOB, as the Majority Leader of the 10th Senate, saying his appointment certainly put a round peg in a round hole.
Ogundipe In a statement issued and personally signed in Ado-Ekiti said Senator Bamidele’s appointment was a well deserved one, and described the former Lagos State Commissioner as a seasoned administrator whose wealth of experience will add immense value to the national Assembly and the Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration.
She further noted that Bamidele’s appointment as the 10th Senate Leader of the Nigeria Senate was as a result of his track record of achievements, experience, pedigree and capacity both at the federal and state levels, bearing on his years of activism as a student leader, experience, and political sagacity.
“I am proud of Senator Opeyemi Bamidele because he has remained consistent as a man of vision and considerable capacity; traits he generously put to use while serving as a Commissioner in Lagos State, even the level of leadership style he demonstrated when he was a member, house of Reps”.
“His first term as Senator representing Èkìtì central brought about exemplary leadership, significant achievements and broken records, especially with the way he put smiles on the constituents through various empowerment programmes aimed at reducing the level of poverty ravaging our land, I therefore vouch for Senator Opeyemi Bamidele that he will do well in his new position, and bring about robust representation at the red chamber”.
Erelu Ogundipe Who was a former local government chairman in Èkìtì State Expressed the optimism that the new Senate Leader will explore the opportunities of his new office to help the state in its quest for development, particularly in the area of infrastructure and presence of the Federal Government in Èkìtì State.
While describing Senator Opeyemi Bamidele as a progressive grassroots politician, Mrs. Ogundipe also said Bamidele is an endowed, committed and humane personality, who has distinguished himself as a leader, while praying God to help him succeed in his new office.
Mrs. Ogundipe Who was a former State women leader further applauded the state Governor, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji over what she described as his spectacular leadership role in the transformation of the state to a modern and one of the leading states in the country.
She noted that his administration had recorded a remarkable level of development through the people-oriented policies and programmes, which she added was evident in the prompt payment of salaries to civil servants and pensions to pensioners.
“I’m glad to see how civil servants and pensioners were in jubilation for receiving their salaries and allowances as and when due, including arrears, which has always been problematic by successive administration in the State.
These and many more stand Oyebanji’s administration out among others.
Ogundipe called on the people of the state to cooperate with the present administration, prayed for all political leaders in all levels of government to enable them steer the ship of the Nation to an enviable height.
