EKSU VC  Promises to Prioritize Welfare of Staff, Students

The Vice Chancellor, Ekiti State University, Ado – Ekiti, Professor Babatola Ayodele has given the assurance on making the welfare of the staff and students of the university his top priority.

Professor Ayodele made the pledge while receiving the Management of the Nigeria Television Authority (NTA), Ado – Ekiti who paid him a courtesy visit in his office.

The Vice Chancellor remarked that the Governing Council of the university had approved the implementation of the new minimum wage which his administration started its implementation during the payment of the January, 2025 salary. This, according to him, was extended to the retirees of the university through the payment of gratuities to the tune of about #200 million to over 70 pensioners. He expressed his appreciation to the university’s Governing Council under the leadership of Professor Akin Oyebode for approving the implementation of the new minimum wage.

The Vice Chancellor also expressed gratitude to the Visitor to the university, His Excellency, Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji for his continuous support to the university. Equally, he acknowledged the support of Her Excellency, Dr. Olayemi Oyebanji, for teaching the students of the Department of Educational Management probono which has added value to the university.

While noting that members of staff had become more committed, he charged them not to rest on their oars as he remains committed to improving their welfare condition. He also appreciated all the union leaders (staff and students) for maintaining academic stability on campus.

Earlier, the General Manager, NTA, Alhaji Ishaq Ayo Akande appreciated the Vice Chancellor for the warm reception and solicited the university’s more robust partnership and patronage.
