High Chief (Dr) Olu Ajayi
The Vice Chancellor of Ekiti State University, Ado-Ekiti, Professor Edward Olanipekun has mourned the passage of the Odoba of Ado Ekiti, High Chief (Dr.) Alex Olu Ajayi.

Head, Directorate of Information & Corporate Affairs, Bode Olofinmuagun said he received the news of the high Chief Ajayi’s death with rude shock.
The vice Chancellor described High Chief (Dr.) Olu Ajayi as” a great philanthropist and a benefactor of the university who impacted positively on his immediate environment,” adding that “he would be greatly missed.”
The Vice Chancellor recalled the role of the late Chief during the developmental stage of the university by donating his personal property as the Administrative building of the university to ensure its effective take off.
He noted that the late Chief was” a good community leader and an accomplished public servant who rose to the peak of his career”.
While commiserating with his immediate family, the Ewi in Council and the entire Ado-Ekiti community, the Vice Chancellor prayed for the repose of the deceased’s soul. He further prayed that the Almighty God would grant the family and well wishers of the late Odoba the fortitude to bear his passage.
In recognition of his contribution to the development of the university, the late High Chief Alex Olu Ajayi was awarded an honorary Doctorate degree in Public Administration (honoris causa).
