The Ekiti State Government has described Administrative Officers as pivotal to the effective implementation of government policies and the smooth running of public institutions.
The Commissioner for Capacity Development and Training, Professor Patrick Tedela, stated this at the opening of a three-day training programme for selected Administrative Officers in the Ekiti State Public Service.

The training, themed “The Administrative Officers in the Era of E-Governance: Rising to the Task of Human and Capital Resources Management for Enhanced Service Delivery,” is aimed at broadening participants’ knowledge of modern trends in governance and public administration.
Professor Tedela explained that Administrative Officers were specifically selected for the programme because of their critical roles in staff appointments, human resource management, and employee welfare.
He urged participants to take full advantage of the training to improve service delivery across the state.
In her remarks, the Head of Service, Dr. Foakemi Olomojobi, encouraged participants to invest in personal development, stressing that emotional intelligence is key to effective administration.
“Your capacity to identify and harness the strengths of others to achieve positive results is what makes you a good administrator,” she said.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Capacity Development and Training, Mr. Bamidele Arowosola, noted that the programme would enhance the knowledge and competence of participants in implementing government policies efficiently.
In their goodwill messages, the Permanent Secretaries, Office of Establishment and Service Matters, Mrs. Janet Ajibola, and Civil Service Commission, Mrs. Bukola Ogunlade, charged participants to continually develop themselves and apply the knowledge gained to improve performance in their respective offices.
They also advised them to uphold the ethics of the profession and avoid actions capable of tarnishing the image of the public service.
One of the facilitators, Elder Tayo Aluko, assured participants that the programme would provide deeper insight into the rules and regulations guiding public service operations.
Some participants, including Mr. Adebiyi Oyinloye of the Office of Establishment and Service Matters and Mrs. Olubunmi Ojo of the Bureau of Public Procurement, expressed optimism that the training would enhance their knowledge and strengthen interpersonal relationships in the discharge of their duties.
The training underscores the state government’s commitment to building a more efficient, technology-driven and result-oriented public service.
