EKSG Restates Commitment to Prioritize Quality Service Delivery among Teachers

 

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has encouraged head teachers in public primary schools to fashion out ways of influencing academic activities towards the attainment of government outlined educational goals.

The Governor’s wife
made this known in Ado Ekiti while flagging off a 3-day capacity building workshop organized by Ekiti State government through the State Universal Basic Education Board for head teachers of public primary schools on the professionalization of teaching.

The Governor’s wife who emphasized the crucial role education plays in the growth and prosperity of any nation, explained that such a step became imperative to improve quality service delivery to the pupils and engender strong commitment to the capacity building of teachers for overall development of basic education.

According to the Governor’s wife, quality education is the fundamental to the growth and prosperity of any nation.as It nurtures the potential of individuals, creating a skilled and knowledgeable workforce that drives economic and social development.

Acknowledging the challenges facing the education system, Ekiti first lady called on teachers and education managers to take full advantage of the training program and apply the skills acquired to classroom activities as she stressed the importance of cascading knowledge to benefit others and contribute to the overall development of the education system.

Dr Oyebanji who is also a guest lecturer and lead facilitator at the training emphasized the need for the head teachers to possess leadership qualities and styles suitable for addressing pressing issues in their schools for accomplishments of educational development at the elementary stage.

“This ensures that teachers are well-prepared, motivated, and equipped to deliver high-quality education, thereby leading to improved learning outcomes and contributes to the overall development of the education system.

In his remarks, the Executive chairman, State Universal Basic Education Board, Professor Femi Akinwumi eulogized the Governor for the enabling environment and for his interest in the welfare of teachers across the board especially the primary school teachers.

He said Governor Biodun Oyebanji recently approved the promotion of primary school teachers in the state from grade level 15 to grade level 16 and also prioritized the training of Ekiti State teachers in order to deliver quality education effectively.

In their good will messages, the commissioner for Education Dr Kofoworola Adebimpe Aderiye, Vice Chancellor Ekiti State University, Professor Joseph Ayodele among others urged teacher to always upgrade themselves, be friendly, encourage pupils to learn as well as cooperate with government to ensure that education system thrives.
