The Ekiti State Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon. Gold Adesola Adedayo, has felicitated the Oore of Otun Ekiti, Moba Local Government Area, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo, over his appointment as the new Southwest Coordinator of the Traditional Council of Nigeria.
Adedayo, who hails from Osun Ekiti in Moba Local Government, posited that the appointment further corroborated the priceless position Oore occupied in the southwest and Nigeria.
The Commissioner said these in Ado Ekiti, on Thursday, in a statement congratulating Oba Adeagbo on his appointment into the coveted seat by his colleague traditional rulers in the country.
Adedayo, in his message to the respectable Ekiti Pelupelu Oba, congratulated Governor Biodun Oyebanji on Oore’s appointment, saying this elevation confirmed that good things are happening to Ekiti at the national level under his leadership.
For the appointment to further bring honour and dignity to the entire Ekiti citizens, Adedayo urged the monarch to bring his wealth of experience to bear in his new position in such a manner that will bring radical development to traditional institution in the country.
The All Progressives Congress stalwart remarked that Governor Oyebanji should be credited in the sense that the Ekiti monarch was saddled with the responsibility, few days after President Bola Ahmed Tinubu appointed another venerable politician, Senator Adedayo Adeyeye as the Chairman of the Nigerian Ports Authority.
“Let me congratulate our revered royal father, the Oore of Otun Ekiti and paramount Ruler of Moba Land, HRM, Oba Adekunle Adeagbo on this new appointment. With this position, he had succeeded in bringing honour and dignity to Ekiti State.
“The entire Moba and Ekiti citizens appreciate the National Council of Traditional Rulers under the co-chairmanship of his Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto, Mohammed Sa’ad Abubakar and the Ooni of Ife, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, for counting Oba Adeagbo worthy of being appointed into this lofty position.
“I also congratulate our people-centric Governor, Biodun Oyebanji on this elevation. Ekiti State has been lucky with good things happening to our dear state under his leadership. It has been happening in the political setting and now extending to the traditional council.
“I have the firm and unflinching belief that Oba Adeagbo would deliver in his new national assignment by ensuring that the Southwest traditional council is well coordinated to be able to make surfeit of contributions to national development under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s presidency”.
Setting agenda for the monarch, Adedayo urged Oba Adeagbo to rally his colleagues royal fathers to vigorously pursue the actualisation of constitutional roles for the institution, resolve herders-farmers clashes, restore security to all beleaguered communities and bring the issue of community policing to the front burner of national discourse.
