The present Executive Committee of Sports Writers Association of Nigeria, SWAN, Ekiti State Chapter, will clock one year in office on Thursday, the 27th of this month (January) 2022.
To this end, the Executive Committee headed by Qozeem Oladapo has lined up a program to commemorate the day as members of the SWAN Executive and a few interested members will be paying an assessment visit to Voki Sports Academy, Iloro Ekiti owned by a patron of the Association, Dr Mrs Adenike Kolawole.
According to the press release issued by the secretary, Ekiti SWAN, Bisi Ogunleye, the visit will take place on Saturday, the
29th of this month.
The statement further says on February 1st of every year being the day set aside to commemorate the National Sports Writers Day in Nigeria, the Ekiti State chapter of SWAN has designed a day workshop/ seminar for sportsmen and women as well as students in the state educational institutions.
The seminar with the theme “SPORTS AND EDUCATION, A VIABLE COMBINATION IN MODERN SOCIETY, will take place at the Oluyemi Kayode Stadium, Ado Ekiti on Tuesday, the 1st of February, 2022 starting from 11am.
Mr Tope Ajayi (PhD) from Ekiti State University Sports Unit and Dr Boluwaji Jayesimi from Afe Babalola University Sports Unit will be the Resource persons.
Participants are expected from the Ekiti State Sports Council as well as selected private and public secondary schools in Ekiti State.
Some of the invited schools are Christ School, Christ Girls School, Ola-Oluwa Muslim Grammar School, Ado Grammar School, Fountain International School and Petoa Group of Schools.
Also expected at the seminar are friends and patrons of SWAN, Ekiti state
