In the quest to eradicate this, especially among women, an online Platform known as Ekiti Online Market has commenced in making sure that women in Ekiti states and other states are self reliant

Ekiti Online Market is an on-line platform of over 12,000 members where people, especially women display their products for sale and interested buyers purchase with ease.

one of the Administrators, Tolu Benson a.k.a Just Sneakers, stated that women don’t have to rely on salary before they could take care of their responsibilities.
She added that they make sure that the buyers and sellers abide strictly to the rules and regulations of the market to avoid cases of scam or fraud.
In her words, “What we do basically is sell and buy online, for example, I sell Sneakers, I hardly go to the market, I buy my goods online, they deliver to me using a dispatch Rider and we are good to go.
“We try to create job opportunities for women, we don’t have to be a Civil Workers to make money or to put food on your table, you can sell and buy online and it has created job opportunity for people like if you need someone to work with you.
“It’s no scam area, we make sure people abide by the rules and regulations of the market.” She stated
Another administrator, Solape Kuku a.k.a Myolle collections, stressed that Ekiti Online Market is a platform where people connect and communicate with one another for the sales of their goods across to different parts of the country.
According to her, it is a channel to empower women so that they can be independent.
“The Ekiti Online Market is where we connect, communicate with people. It’s a kind of networking where you meet people from different States.
“When you connect with people, you get a big contract that will be beyond what you expect and it’s a means of empowering one another.” She said
The Convener ,Mrs Jane Adeyemo said “the program spreads beyond Ekiti for the benefit of all Women and Nigerians in general”.
