EKITI NULGE ENDORSES OYEBANJI FOR SECOND TERM IN OFFICE.

Local Government Workers in Ekiti State under the aegis of State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees NULGE as well as other key stakeholders in the 16 Local Government Areas and 19 Local Council Development Authorities of the State have endorsed Governor Biodun Oyebanji for a second term in Office.

The endorsements were announced in Ado-Ekiti during a solidarity rally organized by Local Government Workers Movement for BAO, and BAO Anchor Group to drum up support for the Ekiti State helmsman in next year’s Gubernatorial Elections in the State.

In her address at the event, the Permanent Secretary of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Mrs. Toba Ojo, expressed the commitment of Local Government workers across the State to support the governor’s re-election bid.

She said the support of council workers in the State for Governor Oyebanji was borne out of their appreciation for the good works of the Governor at the third tier of Government .

The Permanent Secretary highlighted the Governor’s landmark achievements in the local Government level to include: regular payment of salaries, approval of the new minimum wage of N70,000, clearing of outstanding salary arrears , payment of gratuities to retirees and appointment of two additional Permanent Secretaries among Local Government workers in the State

Other speakers at the event including the Chairman of the Ekiti State Local Government Service Commission, Chief Samuel Abejide, a Commissioner in the Local Government Service Commission
and also Coordinator of BAO Anchor Movement,Prince Suyi Aladesanmi and the State NULGE President, Comrade
Oluseyi Babatunde Olatunde.who was represented by the State NULGE Deputy President ,Engr Adebayo Adejuyigbe in their separate addresses described Oyebanji’s endorsement as a vote of confidence in the governor’s remarkable leadership and contributions to the state’s development.

They noted that the endorsement is not merely to celebrate the governor but also to acknowledge his impactful work across all local government areas of the State emphasizing that the governor truly deserves a second term.

 

In his Goodwill message, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Political Affairs, Chief Jide Awe stressed the commitment of Governor Oyebanji for the all round development of the State

He pledged that the Oyebanji Administration will continue to initiate and execute well-thought-out policies that that will act as catalysts for the States development

 

In his remarks at the event, the Ekiti State Governor, Mr Biodun Oyebanji who spoke through the Secretary to the Government,Dr Habibat Adubiaro, conveyed the Governor’s gratitude for the collective endorsement and pledged that his administration would continue to deliver impactful governance.

 

The Secretary to the State Government emphasized Governor Oyebanji’s commitment to local government development, highlighting his belief in their critical role as the closest tier of government to the grassroots.

“The Governor doesn’t joke with the welfare of local government staff because he understands their importance in grassroots development,” Dr. Adubiaro
stated.

 

Adubiaro also commended the governor for addressing the longstanding challenge of electricity shortages by ensuring that all local government areas now have access to power.

She urged residents to show their support for Governor Oyebanji by collecting their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and voting for him in the upcoming 2026 elections.

She assured attendees that the governor remains committed to taking Ekiti State to greater heights, reiterating her appreciation for their endorsement and efforts.

The SSG conveyed the governor’s gratitude for the collective endorsement and pledged that his administration would continue delivering impactful governance.

Dignitaries at the event included the State Commissioner for Information, Rt. Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun and other distinguished personalities
