Ekiti NUJ Online Media Chapel Chair, Abere bags EDUCRAFT Leadership Award

…pledges to prioritize public service


The Chairman of the Online Media Chapel of Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council, Comrade Ayodele Abere, on Monday bagged the EDUCRAFT Global Impact Initiative Award.

Abere, was honoured for his antecedents and development milestones in projects execution, job creation, empowerment, and human services to the good people of Ekiti.

Speaking with journalists at the event ceremony in Ado-Ekiti, Abere attributed the award to God and hailed the organiser for deeming it fit to recognize his meritorious efforts in his vicinities, saying he was astonished when he received the award notification.

While appreciating the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Ekiti State Council for their support, he pledged to further prioritize public service for the benefits of mankind.

His words, “When I got the notification of the award, I was a bit taken aback. I want to appreciate the organiser because they saw me doing something even though I did not see myself doing anything.

“It’s a call to serve the public better. This award will spur me to do more of what prompted them to honour me today.

“I really appreciate and I would like to dedicate the award to God almighty, my family, Nigeria Union of Journalists, Nigerian Institute of Public Relations, and Association of Tourism Practitioners of Nigeria for their support”.

Other awardees include: the Senate Leader, Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, Senate Spokesperson, Senator Yemi Adaramodu, Engineer Kayode Ojo, Honourable Femi Bamisile, Ambassador Wale Ojo -Lanre and Architect Deji Adetuberu.

The award ceremony was in partnership with Ekiti in Diaspora and powered by Gbenga Fowolosele.

Dignitaries at the ceremony include the Alaketu of Ketu, Oba Ajibade Akinbowale, Ekiti State Commissioner for Health, Dr Filani Oyebanji, among others.
