EKITI NUJ MOURNS DEATH OF RETIRED PERMANENT SECRETARY, FAMUBODE

The Ekiti State Council of the Nigeria Union ofJournalists (NUJ) has commiserated with one of its veterans, Mrs Ebun Famubode on the passing of her husband, Pastor Ropo Famubode.

Famubode, a retired Permanent Secretary in Ekiti State and former chairman of Ekiti West local government, died on Sunday at the age of 75 years.

In a statement jointly signed by the chairman of the Union, Kayode Babatuyi and the Secretary, O’Seun Ogunsakin, the Union expressed condolence and said it was deeply saddened by the demise of the former Bureaucrat.

The Union which describes the deceased as a man of faith and service, said the late Famubode left behind a legacy of dedication to public service, community development, and media relations.

The Union noted that Famubode leveraged on the media, his wife’s professional field, to promote the government while he served as Permanent Secretary and later council Boss.

“The NUJ recognized Pastor Famubode’s friendship with journalists and his commitment to fostering positive relations between government and the press. His counsel and support will be greatly missed. We mourn the demise of a great public servant and friend to the media. Our thoughts are with his family, particularly his wife Mrs Ebun Famubode who is one of us and loved ones. May God give them the fortitude to bear the loss”, the Union said.
