The Nigeria Association of Women Journalists (NAWOJ), Ekiti State Chapter, has thrown its weight behind the Special Seat Bill on Women Political Representation, urging lawmakers to expedite its passage.
The NAWOJ Chairperson, Adewumi Ademiju in a press release signed by the Secretary,Funmi Falae emphasized the importance of women’s participation in governance, saying, “The Special Seat Bill is crucial for promoting gender equality and ensuring women have a stronger voice in decision-making processes.”
The bill aims to reserve seats for women in legislative assemblies, ensuring their active participation in shaping policies that affect the nation.
“We believe that women’s representation in politics is key to political development. We urge lawmakers to support the bill and make it a reality.
“Women’s voices matter! Support the Special Seat Bill for increased representation in politics.
“Equality in governance starts with representation. It is time to amplify women’s voices in politics”, Ademiju said.
NAWOJ Ekiti State Chapter is committed to advocating for women’s rights and promoting inclusive governance.
