A man identified as Jimoh Abdul Raman has been arrested by the Police in Ekiti State for assaulting his wife .
The Commissioner of Police,CP Joseph Eribo, has therefore directed a thorough investigation on the matter for adequate Justice to take place.
The Police in a Press release on Sunday by the Police Spokesperson,SP Abutu Sunday said a viral video revealed how the woman was brutally assaulted by the husband.
The statement reads:
“The Ekiti State Police Command on 15/02/2025 at about 19:00hrs, arrested one JIMOH ABDULRAMAN who brutally assaulted his wife, one Mrs Akintunde Bidemi Taiwo, of NOVA Area, Ado-Ekiti
“Upon a tip-off and after watching the viral video of the victim, the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, CP Joseph Eribo, directed the DPO Oke-Ila to immediately identify the culprit, arrest him and commence a thorough investigation.
“The operatives from Oke-Ila division swung into action and arrested the suspect. The case has been transferred to the Gender Based Violence (GBV) Unit of the State CID for discreet investigation and arraignment accordingly”, the statement said.
