The Ekiti State Government says it will patronise members of the State Sheep, Goat and Ram Sellers Association through bulk and direct purchase of livestock ahead of the 2026 Ileya festival.
The Government said the initiative was aimed at boosting local businesses, stimulating economic activities and ensuring the circulation of resources within the state during the festive period.

As part of preparations for the exercise, the Secretary to the State Government, Prof. Habibat Adubiaro, on Friday led a government delegation to the Adere Neighbourhood Market, a major livestock trading hub in Ado-Ekiti.
Adubiaro said the gesture was in line with the Shared Prosperity Agenda of the Gov. Biodun Oyebanji administration.
The visit, according to the government, is expected to strengthen the relationship between the state government and local traders, while also providing support for livestock sellers ahead of the Ileya celebration.
The government delegation included the Director-General of the Bureau of Community Communications, Mrs Mary Oso-Omotoso, and other top government officials.
Traders at the market commended the initiative, describing it as a welcome development that would encourage local commerce and improve the livelihoods of members of the association.
They also appreciated the state government for sustaining policies aimed at supporting small businesses and traders across the state.
