
The Ekiti State House of Assembly has confirmed the appointment of Seventeen out of Eighteen Commissioner nominees recently forwarded to the House by the Governor, Mr. Biodun Oyebanji.
A press release signed by the Director of Information Services, EKHA, Olasunkanmi Ekundayo ANPR stated that :the nominees who took turns to appear before the Assembly were thoroughly screened before confirmation to ascertain their level of competence, efficiency and readiness for the task ahead of them in their prospective ministries.

Kick starting the screening exercise, the first appearance was the former Commissioner for Finance, Mr Akintunde Oyebode, a nominee from Ikole Local Government who spoke extensively on his achievements in office before the cabinet dissolution and was largely applauded for his excellent performance, and thereafter confirmed on merit.
others nominees were Rt Hon Taiwo Olatunbosun, Dapo Karounwi, Folorunso Olabode, Adesola Gold, Ojo Atibioke, Kehinde Ajobiewe, Peju Babafemi, Tosin Ajisafe Aluko among others, who were also given opportunity to speak on their achievements in office between December 2022 and August, 2025.
At the plenary held on Monday, the last two nominees, Prof Ojo Bakare and Mr Seun Fakuade equally reeled out their achievements in office in two years as Commissioner in their respective ministries.
Confirming the nominees, the Speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Adeoye Aribasoye described them as Men and Women of integrity, who have served the state meritoriously in the past, reiterating their contributions to the growth and development of the state, with a charge that they repeat and surpass the great feats.
“However, one of the Commissioner nominees from Oye Local Government, Seun Fakuade was screened but had his confirmation halted due to a pending petition against him which has not yet been treated by the lawmakers.”
The Speaker Rt. Hon. Adeoye Aribasoye, in his remarks enjoined the confirmed nominees to brace up and get ready to take the bull by the horns in their new areas to enable the government achieve its goal.
He also reaffirmed the announced historic commencement of the first Commercial flight scheduled by the state government for Wednesday, noting that it would kickstart inter-state commercial flights, and bring light to a long awaited vision.
Aribasoye commended former Governor Fayemi for powering the vision and thanked Biodun Oyebanji for bringing it to an operational level, adding that the role of the assembly in aiding necessary approvals to support the project completion can not also be underestimated.
Meanwhile, the House also examined the Ekiti State Revenue Administration Bill 2025 and passed it through the second reading.
Presenting the bill, the Leader of Government business, Hon.Tolulope Ige explained that the bill seeks to improve revenue collection, enhance tax compliance and increase state revenue while Rt. Hon Akeem Jamiu and Hon Babatunde Oke said the bill will bring about harmonization, prevent multiple taxation and eliminate the risk of collecting taxes in line with the Tax reform act 2025 passed by the National Assembly.
After deliberation, the bill was committed to the Committee on Finance and Appropriation chaired by Hon Teju Okuyiga, which was directed to submit their report to the house by 18th of December.
