The Alawe of Ilawe-Ekiti , HRM Oba Adebanji Ajibade Alabi ,AFUNTADE I, has commended Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji of Ekiti State and many political office holders from Ilawe-Ekiti for their contributions towards the development of Ilawe-Ekiti .
The commendation was made in his palace during the new year prayer organised by the Christian Association of Nigeria [CAN].
The Alawe particularly gave credit to Governor Oyebanji for the construction of the Ilawe-Ekiti to Ikere road, the rehabilitation of Ilawe-Ekiti Erijiyan road ,the Ilawe-Ekiti to Igede road as well as the Ilawe to Igbaraodo road .
He further praised the Governor for overhauling and providing the state of the art equipment to the General Hospital in the town.
The Alawe told the congregation about the positive contributions of some of the political office holders in the town in the year 2025 referencing Senator Yemi Adaramodu for the construction of the modern Oba Afuntade market ,provision of a bus to Alawe in council and facilitating government employments to several jobless indigenes .
Oba Alabi further reeled out the contributions of other political office holders ,such as Hon.Yemisi Ayokunle, Hon Makinde Araoye, Hon Richard Apolola and Hon Yemi Alatise among others.
The Alawe was full of praise for those indigenes of the town who are not politicians who contributed to the development of the town in the year 2025.
He specifically mentioned Barrister Femi Falana SAN and Dr Marcus Ogunbiyi for their immeasurable contributions.
However, the Monarch frowned at the unwholesome attitude of one of the politicians in the town who he said had not represented the community well and didn’t contribute tangibly to the development of the town.
The Oba stated that the community would never again allow anyone without political wherewithal or sagacity to represent the town in any political office including the House of Assembly
Alawe used the occasion to pray for God’s guidance and protection for indigenes of the town .
