The Chairman Ado Central Local Council Development Area of Ekiti state, Chief Toyin Ojo has promised to continue to embark on people oriented projects and ensuring that the dividends of democracy reach the grassroots.
The Chairman who made the promise during the foundation laying ceremony of an ultra modern market at New Garage as well as the inauguration of a bridge in Ado the state capital.
The ceremonies had top government functionaries, market women, opinion leaders and staff of Ado Central LCDA in attendance.
The foundation laying ceremony for the new market was performed by Eyesorun of Ado Ekiti Olori Abosede Adejugbe while the multi million naira Ekute-Alasia bridge was commissioned by Commissioner for Physical Planning Chief Oladapo Karohunwi.
Speaking at the two events Chief Toyin Ojo thanked Governor Biodun Oyebanji for the support towards the projects.
While handing over to the public the newly constructed Bridge, built by his administration, Chief Toyin Ojo said that the project embodies his administration’s commitment to addressing long-standing challenges faced by the people of Ado Central.
“This project embodies our administration’s commitment to keeping our promises and addressing long-standing challenges faced by the people of Ado Central.
“If you recall, during our campaigns, we pledged to tackle issues of inadequate infrastructure and persistent flooding, challenges that have plagued this area for over eighteen years. Today, we deliver on that promise.
“Before now, crossing between Omisanjana and Ekute communities was difficult and unsafe. Pedestrians had to navigate which exposed them to danger and was an environmental eyesore.
According to Chief Toyin Ojo, his administration would continue to embark on people’s friendly projects till the last day in office urging residents of the state to support the reelection bid of the Governor for more dividends of democracy.
Some dignitaries who spoke at the events including Eyesorun of Ado Ekiti Olori Abosede Adejugbe, Chief Oladapo Karohunwi, Hon. Taiwo Olatunbosun, Mrs Mrs Mary Osho Omotoso among others in their separate remarks described Chief Toyin Ojo as a man loved by the people.
They said the Toyin Ojo administration has shown a persistent commitment and responsibility towards the delivery of strategic link bridge saying has set a benchmark for good governance in the LCDA.
Some of the beneficiaries of the project including the Chairman of Oluwatuyi Quarters of Ekute Mr Tunde Agunbiade said that the project would boost the economy of the area.
In the meantime Chief Toyin Ojo has distributed cash gifts to about 150 elderly and presented cash and beverages to the Muslim Community in the LCDA.
He said that the funds were made available for the elderly to support the social security scheme of the state government and assist the Muslims during this Ramadan.
The Wife of the Chairman Mrs Mary Toyin-Ojo appreciated the people of the LCDA for the support given to her husband and called for more support.
Some of the beneficiaries thanked the chairman for the gesture and promised to support the party in the forthcoming governorship election.
