The Chairman of Ado Central Local Council Development Area in Ekiti State, Mr. Toyin Ojo, has said that his administration has recorded unprecedented successes in delivering quality services to people of the LCDA.
Ojo who spoke during a visit to the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ado-Ekiti, confirmed that his administration was able to carry out some projects which seemed incredible, promising that if given oppotto serve at the National Assembly he would replicate such energy and great vision.
The council Chairman explained that when he assumed office, there was no conducive space to operate but without hundred days in office he built a befitting office and later added several structures including a hall and an office for the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps to strengthen security
According to him, his administration came up with different initiatives which enhanced the Internally Generated Revenue of the council and rated the council as first in two consecutive years.
Ojo further disclosed that the council addressed water challenges in different wards by providing boreholes in many communities. He added that the administration also intervened in electricity issues and carried out rehabilitation work on the Omisaja and Ekute bridges to improve movement within the council area.
The chairman said his administration also focused on the education sector by supporting students through free registration for the West African Examinations Council and the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board examinations. He also noted that welfare support was provided for elderly residents and widows in the community.
Ojo promised that the council would support the NUJ secretariat with the construction of a drainage system and the provision of a water borehole to improve the facility. He added that the projects executed by the council were carried out in support of the development agenda of Ekiti State Governor, Biodun Oyebanji.
