A Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC), in Ekiti State, Barrister Gbenga Ojo, has felicitated with the Muslim community particularly in Ekiti North federal constituency II and beyond on this year’s celebration of Eid ul-Adha.
Ojo an indigene of Ilogbo-Ekiti in a goodwill message in commemoration of the 2024 Eid ul-Adha celebration urges Muslims to uphold the tenet of Islam in their endeavour.
He also admonished Muslims to embrace peace and remain law-abiding for development to thrive in Ekiti State and Nigeria at large.
“I wish all of you a peaceful and sweet celebration and pray the Almighty Allah to grant your heart desires,” he was quoted as saying.
Ojo further admonished Muslims to continue to offer prayers for peace, unity and prosperity of the country, reminding them “Islam is a religion of peace and if its adherents pray to Allah with sincerity, He will surely answer”. This year’s celebration of the Eid ul-Adha(festival of sacrifice) is scheduled for Sunday June 16.
Meanwhile, the Federal Government has announced Monday June 17 and Tuesday June 18, 2024 to mark the Eid ul-Adha celebration.
