Idahosa
The member representing Ovia Federal Constituency at the House of Representatives, Hon. Dennis Idahosa, has won the All Progressives (APC) governorship primary election in Edo state.
This means that Idahosa will fly the party’s flag at the September 21, 2024 governorship poll in the state.
Imo state governor and Chairman of APC electoral committee in the state, Mr. Hope Uzodinma, who announced the results said Idahosa polled the highest number of votes in the exercise held on Saturday.
Uzodinma said Idahosa polled 40,453 out of 42,381 votes to defeat other aspirants who contested the primary election.
Up to 12 aspirants were screened and cleared by the national leadership of APC to contest the election.
Later on, two of them – Pastor Osagie Ize -Iyamu and Dr. Ernest Afolabi withdrew at the last minute.
