The Ekiti State chapter of the All Progressives Congress has appealed to members to fully participate in the ongoing national electronic registration exercise, saying involvement would confirm their loyalty and commitment to the success of the party in future elections.
The Coordinator of the APC e-registration exercise in Ekiti State and the Commissioner for Youth Development, Hon Gold Adesola Adedayo, gave the appeal, on Monday, during a meeting with the Senatorial coordinators and local government supervisors in Ado Ekiti, the Ekiti State Capital.
Adedayo said the exercise began last year with the training of agents that will execute the programme at the ward level, describing the action backed by the Prof Nentawe Yilwadta-led National Working Committee as pivotal to the successes of the party in future elections.
Providing a guide, Adedayo revealed that the exercise will take place daily from 8:00am to 6:00pm in each of the 177 wards across the state for members who are up to 18 years, with valid INEC voter cards and National Identification Numbers(NIN).
The Commissioner urged the supervisors to aggressively mobilise members at the ward level and provide all requisite information and guides that can help them to easily participate in the exercise without hitches and unwarranted encumbrances.
Adedayo hinged the viability of any political party on its rocky and sustained membership drives, saying the exercise will further help the party to ascertain its true support base and membership profile ahead of the 2027 elections.
The commissioner reminded the APC members of the expediency and pivotality of the exercise to the reelection of Governor Biodun Oyebanji in the coming June 20,2026 governorship poll, saying this further makes the programme more worthwhile for the members of the party in Ekiti.
He advised members who are bereft of knowledge of how the exercise will be undertaken to reach out to the State Working Committee of the party and the appointed ward supervisors for a guide.
“We should be thankful to the National Working Committee of our great party for coming up with an electronic registration exercise for all members.
“This is in line with the international best practices and the APC is laying a solid foundation about how true democracy and party politics should be as the largest party in Africa continent.
“As regards the mode of registration, trained Ward Agents will reach out to members through their respective Ward Chairmen to ensure a smooth and well-coordinated registration process in all wards across the State.
“Ward Agents in their respective wards will also be readily available to answer questions and attend to any complaints that may arise during the exercise.
“This exercise is very important as it will strengthen our party’s structures and ensures proper documentation of members at the grassroots.
Adding his voice to the call, the Ekiti State Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Barr. Sola Elesin, on Monday, successfully registered in the ongoing electronic registration exercise, setting the pace for party members across the state.
Barr. Elesin urged all APC members to emulate his example by promptly registering, stressing that participation in the e-registration exercise is a clear demonstration of loyalty, commitment, and readiness to contribute meaningfully to the growth and electoral success of the party.
He noted that proper registration would ensure members are duly recognised as bonafide members of the progressive party, while also strengthening the party’s internal structures and data integrity ahead of future elections.
“As loyal and committed party members, let us all come out and participate actively. APC is moving forward”.
