Cyril Fasuyi’s Second Term Bid Under Fire: Constituents Question Lack of Progress

A prominent member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ekiti State, Tunde Akinlabi, has criticized Senator Cyril Fasuyi, representing Ekiti North, for his lack of tangible contributions to the district’s development.

Akinlabi, a staunch APC member who served in John Kayode Fayemi’s 2018 campaign organization and Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji’s 2022 campaign committee, lambasted Fasuyi “for failing to facilitate significant infrastructure projects, empowerment programs, or transformative initiatives during his over three years in office.”

Akinlabi stated, “The distribution of free JAMB and GCE forms to students, though helpful, falls short of expectations from a federal lawmaker who receives over one billion naira monthly from our commonwealth.”

He added that other senators have achieved more, facilitating skill acquisition programs, job placements, and grants for small businesses.

Akinlabi questioned Fasuyi’s absence in the district and lack of engagement with constituents, citing his flaunting of wealth as insensitive to the people’s plight.

He compared Fasuyi unfavorably with other lawmakers, such as Rep. Akarachi Etinosa Amadi, who has sponsored 38 bills and implemented education and infrastructure programs.

Akinlabi urged Ekiti North constituents to demand accountability and vote for a better representative in the 2027 elections, saying, “It’s time for a candidate who can be a rallying point, not one who uses constituents for votes and disappears for four years.”

He said Governor Biodun Oyebanji’s administration has delivered visible projects in Ekiti State, highlighting Fasuyi’s lack of impact. Constituents are urged to hold their elected officials accountable and demand tangible results.
