CAF Women’s Champions League: Edo Queens Warms up For WAFU-B Tourney In Burkina Faso

Edo Queens Football Club of Benin have started preparation highlighting part of the activities lined up by the club’s management to put the team in shape for the forthcoming 2025/26 WAFU-B CAF Women’s Champions League qualifiers showpiece in Burkina Faso.

Recalled that after a heated supremacy battle between two archrival sides Edo Queens and Bayelsa Queens in the super six a match played under a baking pressure, in the 2025/2026 Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL), premiership season, the reigning Champions of the Nigeria Women Football League for 2025/26 season ,Edo Queens emerged champions and by right licensed to represent Nigeria at the CAF Women’s Champions League fiesta.

The WAFU- B qualifiers will be held in Burkina Faso in August As former WAFU- B champions in 2023/2024 season, the expectation is high giving recent ratings and achievement of the club. The club’s internal view is that the squad is ready to win major trophies without needing a dramatic overhaul before the new season begins.

As they commence intensive build up for the Continental cracker, the overall feeling appears to be confidence and concern, as Moses has an excellent crop of players to work with. For the entire squad, the expectation is high, therefore the club’s confidence should be seen as a vote of faith in both the players and the new project.

According to the General Manager Rollanson Odeh, he said: “We have commenced closed camping programme for the players, we need to put everything in proper shape because we are not going there for a jamboree. No team is a pushover in present day football. We must work extra hard. It is no business as usual. We will thrive together and get the best results in Burkina Faso and beyond.”
