The Yobe state governor, Mai Mala Buni, has tasked the newly elected national president of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria (MACBAN), Alhaji Baba Usman Ngelzarma on finding immediate solution to tackle incessant conflict between farmers-herders in the country.
Buni made the call on Sunday while receiving the MACBAN president who paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House, Damaturu.
The governor stated that he is excited that the MACBAN president is from Yobe state and saying that it shows that peace will continue to be restored in the state and conflict between farmers-herders will drastically reduce.
He used the forum to call on all stakeholders and traditional institutions to play vital role towards restoration of peace in the state.
“We appreciate God for everything and we hope this new leadership that has come on board will be a source of peace for all the pastoralists in the country,” said Buni.
