The vibrant Okorobo festival in Ifaki-Ekiti on Saturday served as the stage for a significant political declaration as Aladegbami Adebanjo popularly called AJU, an illustrious son of the town and commercial Pilot-turned-politician, stormed the event with pomp and pageantry to officially stamp his presence on the state’s political landscape.
Amid a rapturous welcome from his constituency, AJU a Masters Holder in management from a Turkish University formally pledged his allegiance to the endorsement and leadership style of Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji, urging a second term for the Governor.
In his address, AJU the Masters Holder in music management and entrepreneurship from the university of London, UK passionately commended what he termed the selfless act of Governor Oyebanji in prioritizing the completion of the second lane of the Ado-Iworoko-Ifaki road.
He described the Governor as a true democrat who is not about personal aggrandizement but is instead driven by a genuine love for the people. AJU cited his own smooth ride from Adebayo in Ado-Ekiti to the festival in his hometown as a tangible game-changer for the administration, highlighting it as a hallmark of a compassionate government that places a premium on the safety and convenience of residents.
He explained that this infrastructural milestone, among other initiatives, formed the core basis for his decision to queue behind the Governor.
AJU called on all residents to update their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and prepare to return Governor Oyebanji for a second term in the 2026 general election.
He, however, charged party faithful to first work assiduously to ensure the Governor emerges as the All Progressives Congress (APC) flag bearer in the party’s primaries coming up on October 27th.
AJU maintained thatr Governor Oyebanji has broken barriers and achieved an unprecedented feat by earning a unified and unanimous endorsement from all past Governors of the state, a key reason he is worthy of being followed.
Demonstrating his respect for culture and tradition, the politician also took time to visit the Olufaki of Ifaki Ekiti, His Imperial Majesty Oba John Adegbenro Falore Ajigbade III, for royal blessings on his future ambition to serve his community.
AJU commended the people for their steadfastness in defying heavy rainfall to troop into the state en masse for the Okorobo efestival. He assured that he has met with critical stakeholders of the festival to make the next edition more interesting and to position it among premier traditional festivals like the Udiroko in Ado-Ekiti, the Ojude Oba in Ogun State, and the Osun Osogbo in Osun State.
