Lagos State residents have been assured on more dividends of democracy from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration.
The assurance was given by the State All progressives Congress,APC to commemorate the first anniversary of Sanwo Olu’s second tenure.
The Lagos APC Chairman, Pastor Cornelius Ojelabi,who gave the submission in a statement on Tuesday said the state government would deliver more programmes and projects to further impact residents.
The chairman described the performance of the Sanwo-Olu-led administration in the last one year as impressive.
According to him, the governor is fulfilling his electoral promises through projects and interventions in all sectors of the state’s economy.
He said that the APC-led government in the state was doing everything to make life better for residents
On Sanwo-Olu’s achievements in the education sector ,Ojelabi said “the state government constructed and rehabilitated many public schools across the 20 local governments(LGs) and 37 Local Council Development Areas(LCDAs)in the last one year.”
Ojelabi added that “the government, within the same period , trained many teachers under the Eko Excel Scheme.’
The APC Chairman said the Sanwo-Olu government, also provided hostels in model colleges ,adding that public libraries in Epe, Eti-Osa, Amuwo Odofin and Ikorodu were also renovated.
In the health sector, Ojelabi said the state government renovated and upgraded health facilities in the state, including Massey Street Children Hospital on Lagos Island.
He said the Sanwo-Olu administration had ensured regular payment of allowances to healthcare personnel to ensure uninterrupted access to healthcare.
“Gov. Sanwo-Olu as the number one ambassador of the APC in the state, has equally added N35,000.00 to the salaries of workers for six months to mitigate hardship occasioned by fuel subsidy removal .
“Our state has also cleared in totality the backlog of pension arrears.
“As it stands today, Lagos is the only state that has done this with a promise that pensions will be paid as and when due,” he said.
Ojelabi said that the APC-led government under Gov. Sanwo-Olu had also developed grassroots sports.
“The state also embarked on distribution of palliatives to many residents of the state to combat hunger and its attendant ills,” the chairman said.
The APC boss commended the resilience and doggedness of residents over the years , and thanked them for rewarding the brilliant performance of the governor with another four years, in 2023.
He called for continuous support for the APC administration to deliver more democratic dividends.
Sanwo-Olu, who is serving his second and last term in office as governor of the state, was first elected into office in 2019.
He was re-elected in 2023.
Sanwo-Olu will mark his first year in office on May 29, the exact date he was sworn-in for second term .
