Ekiti State Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security workers have been charged to be dedicated to their duties in order to justify the confidence reposed in them by the State Government.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry, Mr Ojo Babatope gave the charge while addressing workers at a forum in Ado Ekiti.
Babatope reteirated the commitment of the Biodun Oyebanji led administration to Food Security in the State which can be achieved through quality service delivery of the workforce.
He recalled several interventions by the Federal Government in the State Agricultural sector, including the establishment of the Food Processing Equipment and Machinery Development Institute (FOPEMDI) in Ekiti State, nomination of Ekiti State as the pilot state for Agriculture in South West, selection of Ekiti State for Agricultural Skills Programme through the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) and siting of the first Soil assessment laboratory equipment in South West in Ekiti State in order to help farmers in Ekiti and the South Western States have easy access to soil test.
The Permanent Secretary therefore advised the workers to exhibit good character traits and be committed to their duties in line with civil service ethics, noting that the commitment of the Governor to the Agric sector was responsible for the different Federal Government interventions and the workers needed to consolidate on the gains through hard work and commitment.
Earlier, the Director of Administration and Supplies, Mrs Adebanke Adebanjo in her exhortation, noted that clean hands, pure hearts and hardwork were required for the workers to prosper and attain greater heights.
She counselled the staffers of the Ministry to be alive to their responsibilities and give priority to professionalism and dedication.
