In view of pains and inconveniences being experienced by Nigerians over cash scarcity in the country,the Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC has threatened to shut down the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN for the hardship people are facing on naira redesign.
The NLC has therefore directed all the affiliate unions to begin the mobilisation to ensure total compliance with the proposed shutdown of the apex CBN.
The work force has directed workers to sit at home from Wednesday of next week and buy enough foodstuffs that would sustain them for the Proposed strike
The President of NLC, Comrade Joe Ajaero gave the directive yesterday while briefing newsmen in Abuja at the end of the Central Working Committee, CWC, meeting to review the seven-day ultimatum given to the Federal Government to make cash available to the people.
Comrade Ajaero urged Nigerians to bear with the NLC, as the action was meant to reduce the sufferings Nigerians are passing through as a result of the cash crunch.
“We will be physically present in all the CBN offices nationwide,” he said.
