NEMA to distribute relief materials to 1000 disaster victims in Ekiti

The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA said that over 1,000 relief materials for victims of flood and windstorms had arrived Ekiti State for distribution.

 

The Operation Manager in charge of Ondo and Ekiti states, Mr Kadiri Olarewaju disclosed this during a visit to the office of the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye, in Ado-Ekiti Ekiti on Tuesday.

According to him, the first phase would take care of over 1,000 victims, adding that the second phase would follow shortly.

He said that the purpose of the visit was to solicit  more support and partnership with the new Government of Ekiti State in ensuring that disasters victims are well taken care of in the State.

Earlier, the Deputy Governor, Chief (Mrs) Monisade Afuye lauded the Federal Government for providing relief materials to victims of flood and windstorms disasters in the state.

She said that the donations would alleviate hardship being faced by flood and windstorms victims.

Chief Afuye assured the NEMA officials that the items would be evenly distributed as soon as the governor gives directives for the distribution.

She promised that the state government, under the leadership of Governor Biodun Oyebanji, would continue to partner the agency in ensuring that more relief materials are provided for Disasters victims in the state.
