APC Primary: Akpabio, Amosun ,Fayemi,Bankole step down for Tinubu

Former Governors of Akwa Ibom and Ogun states, Godswill Akpabio and Ibikunle Amosun, have stepped down their presidential aspirations.

Also the chairman of Nigeria governors Forum NGF and Ekiti state governor Kayode Fayemi has also backed out in support of Tinubu. This is coming as former speaker House of representatives,Dimeji Bankole  also stepped down for the APC National leader, they have all directed their supporters to vote for Tinubu.

They all in there separate remarks declared their supports for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the ongoing All Progressives Congress presidential primary.

Akpabio, a former Senate Minority Leader, said he made the decision to support a leader with ‘sight and vision’ who turned around the fortune of Lagos State.

Amosun is an incumbent senator representing Ogun Central.

 

Amosun said he made the decision in the spirit of harmony to give the mandate to a Southern aspirant who is competent.

The former governors are the first aspirants to step down at the ongoing Special Convention

 

Governor Kayode Fayemi who is the third aspirant to step down for Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the ongoing Special Convention to elect a presidential candidate for the All Progressives Congress.

Fayemi, said he is a young man who has many years ahead, hence “the decision to support a more experienced leader and mentor”

Bankole in his own remark said ” I too wants to grow old, I step down for Tinubu”.
