Suspected thugs have attacked the secretariat of the Nigeria Democratic Congress, NDC, in Ikpoba-Okha Local Government Area of Edo State, destroying property.
The attack, on Wednesday according to report, is coming barely one week after a similar assault on the party’s campaign office in Enugu State where a member was shot dead.
The Enugu State chapter of the party had confirmed the death of one of its members, Nworie Christopher, from Affa in Udi Local Government Area, who died from gunshot injuries sustained during the October 10, 2026 attack on the campaign office of its governorship candidate, Christian Chinyeaka Ohaa, in the Government Reserved Area, GRA, Enugu.
No life was lost in the Edo incident, but a video from the scene showed property inside the secretariat vandalised.
In the footage, a woman was heard blaming the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, for the attack.
“The last one happened in Enugu, where one person died. Now they have brought it to Edo. APC, your end is here,” she said.
Meanwhile, civil society organisations and political commentators have raised concern over the repeated attacks on party offices, warning that if unchecked, the violence could undermine the credibility of the electoral process.
