The Ogun State Government has earmarked ₦987.185 million for palliative support for public servants between April and December 2026, as part of efforts to cushion the effects of prevailing economic challenges on workers.
The Head of Service, Alhaji Olanrewaju Iskeel Saka, disclosed this in a statement on Friday, noting that the sustained intervention underscored the state government’s commitment to workers’ welfare.
According to the statement, the government allocated ₦330.63 million for the second quarter, covering April to June, and ₦329.245 million for the third quarter, from July to September.
The latest allocation of ₦327.31 million is for the fourth quarter, covering October to December, bringing the total provision for the three quarters to ₦987.185 million.
The palliative programme is designed to ease the financial burden on public servants amid rising transportation costs and other essential expenses.
The government’s continued investment in workers’ welfare also reflects its recognition of the role of a motivated workforce in enhancing productivity, improving public service delivery and achieving its development objectives.
The administration of Governor Dapo Abiodun, through the sustained intervention, aims to provide financial relief for workers while ensuring the effective delivery of essential services across the state.
The latest allocation reinforces the state government’s commitment to maintaining welfare measures that support public servants amid prevailing economic pressures.
